Though initially turned off by the nudity of the film and the violence, its distinctive female edge and character development convinced her to take on the character. Butler starred in Jennifer Hills as a novelist who is brutally assaulted by a gang in a cabin on vacation. Steven R. Monroe, director of the film, made it available on the 8th of October 2010. Butler began shooting The Stranger Within with Estella and William Baldwin, the psychological thriller in Mallorca, on November 11, 2011. The film was also scheduled to shoot in Copenhagen Denmark and New York City.She was part of the crew for the feature film independent Treachery with Michael Biehn which began filming in Los Angeles in June 2012. Butler was on screen in The Demented, a 2013 horror film with Michael Welch, Kayla Ewell and Michael Welch.
